Tearaways Pet Farm and Activity Centre offers indoor and outdoor activities to keep all the family happy and active, whatever the weather. They have a 6,000 square foot, purpose built indoor activity centre with slides, crawling tunnels, ball pits and a separate toddler area. They ensure all of the play equipment is LICA certified and the electronically secure gates will keep the children safe.


Lough Boora Parklands

(20 minutes drive from hotel)

Free entry to  the park & it is possible to hire bikes to explore the parklands. Highlights include bog train, thomas the tank engine  and the fairy avenue plus the two pyramids. On site  coffee shop, great space for picnics.   


Bike Park Ireland

(10 minutes drive/8 miles drive from hotel)

Experience the thrill of gravity-fed (downhill) mountain biking at Bike Park Ireland. It’s very similar to skiing, which is how it all started in the 1980’s. With skiing you use a ski-lift to the top, here they use Army Trucks. Recommend arriving  earlier to  warm up and can enjoy the pump tracks. Full suspension bike, Helmet, elbow & knee pads all available to hire.


Birr Outdoor Education & Training Centre

Located next to the hotel offers the ultimate outdoor experience with a wide range of activites. Day Adventure Camps for ages 10-16 years. A variety of action packed adventure camps are planned this year, ranging from half a day to five days. Adventure Saturday open days for indviduals, families and groups on various Saturdays throughout the year.
